Mythology
This course offers a survey of various world mythologies and cultures. Units include the following: an introduction to mythology; the hero's journey; traditional mythology involving classical Greece and Rome, the Norse, Europeans, Russia and Asia; and a unit focused on urban legends and popular cultural myths.

- To evaluate archetypal mythological stories and figures as they appear in a variety of the world's cultures.
- To explain a varying role of myths in society.
- To demonstrate the significant parallels in the structures of myths in diverse cultures.
