Welcome to English IV.  Students in English IV will integrate all the language arts skills gained throughout their education. The curriculum both affirms these skills and equips the students to be life-long learners. Students continue to explore expressive, expository, argumentative, and literary contexts with a focus on British Literature. The emphasis in English IV is on argumentation by developing a position of advocacy through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and using media.     Time management is crucial during this course.  Students will be expected to keep up with assignment due dates, manage projects, design presentations and complete background readings and research at home.  It is important for students to contact the teacher as soon as possible if they have issues with any aspect of the class.  Being self-directed in learning, managing time, and taking responsibility for your actions is part of becoming an adult.
