Welcome to English IV Honors. The English IV Honors course offers students an introduction to the concepts, terms, and practices commonly encountered in literary study presented through texts representing the history of British Literature. The framework of the course is designed to expose students to a literary tradition across its history, to introduce tools for analysis, including critical and interpretive vocabulary, and to continue the development of skills in literary interpretation and argumentation. The overall goal of the coursework is to provide a foundation for students intending on pursuing higher academic learning through a university or college.
Time management is crucial during this course. Students will be expected to keep up with assignment due dates, manage projects, design presentations and complete background readings and research at home. It is important for students to contact the teacher as soon as possible if they have issues with any aspect of the class. Being self-directed in learning, managing time, and taking responsibility for your actions is part of becoming an adult.
